Yurt

Traditional buryat dwelling. Almost any household item in a yurt can tell you about the traditional way of locals life. One of its features is that it can serve as a kind of sundial and compass. A sun ray falling into the yurt through the upper circle and gliding along the wall allows its inhabitants to determine the exact time of day. It should be recalled that in all traditional cultures the dwelling has always been an image of the Universe. The roof of the yurt correlates with the celestial sphere, the smoke flap is revered as one of the sacred parts: it is believed that happiness enters through the yurt, and communication with celestial deities is carried out. The hearth is the sacred and semantic center of the dwelling: the master of fire, the guardian of the well-being and happiness of the family lives in the hearth.
